Delay-loving GN’R on time for India

Written By Unknown on Rabu, 31 Oktober 2012 | 21.44

Love it Hate it Accept it Debate it - You want 8 o'clock shows go find F-R-I-E-N-D-S or hit a cinema.. or you wanna be informed go catch the 10 o'clock news.. this is Rock N' Roll!"

This is what Guns N' Roses wrote on their Facebook page after they kept fans waiting for two hours for a gig at Rock In Rio in 2011. They're infamous for turning up late at concerts. In fact, hapless organisers of Rock In Rio made them sign a 'lateness' clause, which didn't work. In 2010, Irish fans pelted them with bottles after they were an hour late at a Dublin gig. On an average, a Gn'R fan is expected to wait between two to fours hours after the specified timing (which is longer than their three hour set).

And so it's surprising that the band have not only agreed to perform in India, but that they've actually agreed to play at 7pm (a time that they would ideally want their fans to go find F-R-I-E-N-D-S or a hit a cinema), to adhere to the Supreme Court ruling that all concerts be shut down by 10pm.

"10pm is normally the time Axl starts warming up. But he has been incredibly cooperative about the rules and has agreed to perform his full three hour set, starting at 6.45pm. So we'd urge fans to be on time, because Axl will be!" said Karamjeet Singh, senior VP, MOOZ Entertainment.

Salman to keep his hands off Kareena

Come November 5, and Kareena Kapoor will start shooting her item song for Dabangg 2 along with Salman Khan. Although the number is titled Fevicol, it will have none of the anticipated physical proximity between the two stars.

On the contrary, choreographer Farah Khan has been categorically asked to keep Kareena and Salman completely a part in the song. And before jumping to any conclusions about who might have thrown in such a no-intimacy clause (could it be the newly-wed Kareena's inlaws?), it may come as a surprise to know that Salman's is the face behind Farah's brief.

We've learnt the actor demanded that the raunchiness in the item number be toned down because he has always seen Kareena as Karisma Kapoor's younger sister. Post her marriage to Saif Ali Khan, he has become even more protective toward his co-star's kid sister.

A source close to Salman told TOI, "There are absolutely no post-marital do's and don'ts for Kareena. She is free to do what she likes. There are no restrictions on her. The women in the Pataudi family whether it is Sharmila or Soha, are free to do what they think is right and Kareena is no exception. The decision to keep the item song at a fun-but-decorous level comes from Salman himself."

Apparently, Salman wanted the item song with Kareena to be done discreetly right from the beginning. "And after the wedding, he is even more conscious of his co-star Lolo's baby sister Bebo being Mrs Kapoor Khan," the source said. Salman was faced with a similar situation earlier in Dabangg, when he had to shoot the Munni Badnaam number with his sister-in-law Malaika Arora Khan.

Meanwhile, it is interesting to note that both the projects Kareena has signed after marriage—the item song in Dabangg 2 and the female lead in Prakash Jha's Satsang—are essentially 'stand-alone' roles. In Dabangg 2, she will perform the item number in Salman's company without the two of them getting too close for comfort. Whereas in Satsang, she is paired with Ajay Devgn but they share no intimate moments.

On the subject of the item song in Dabangg 2, Arbaaz Khan refused to comment on the way it will be shot. Farah Khan remained unavailable for comment.

Shahid teases Ileana, calls her Ranbir’s gal

She made her Hindi film debut alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Anurag Basu's Barfi! And now Ileana D'Cruz is all set to start shooting for Raj Kumar Santoshi's Phata Poster Nikla Hero where she is paired with Shahid Kapoor.

Apparently, Ileana and Shahid got along like a house on fire during the film's rehearsals. Which is probably why Shahid has been addressing Ileana as 'Ranbir's girl'...

A source from the sets told TOI, "Ileana had a great time working with Ranbir on Barfi! She shared some of those experiences with Shahid, who has now started teasing her as 'Ranbir's girl'. Shahid is being plain mischievous. Besides, Ileana knows only two actors so well; one being Ranbir and the other Shahid."

Kate Moss opens up about modeling misery

If you hate having your picture taken, you're in good company - British supermodel Kate Moss does as well.

"I'm terrible at a snapshot. Terrible. I blink all the time. I've got facial Tourette's," she told Vanity Fair in the December issue, out on Wednesday.

Moss, who has graced countless magazine covers and was emblematic of the waif look popular in the 1990s, added "Unless I'm working and in that zone, I'm not very good at pictures."

Moss, 38, opened up about her years spent before the camera, including now-l egendary s hoots that left her anxious, demoralized, and hungry.

Among her regrets is a 1992 Calvin Klein session that helped launched Moss' career.

She recalled the shoot, at age 17 or 18, with Mark Wahlberg (then going by his rapper name, Marky Mark) and photographer Herb Ritts.

"I had a nervous breakdown," she said. "It (the job) didn't feel like me at all. I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy. I didn't like it. I couldn't get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die."

"It was just anxiety," she added. "Nobody takes care of you mentally. There's a massive pressure to do what you have to do (and) I was really little ... I didn't like it. But it was work, and I had to do it."

When she was even younger, she posed nude for The Face - another regret.

"I see a 16-year-old now, and to ask her to take her clothes off would feel really weird. But they were like, 'If you don't do it, then we're not going to book you again.' So I'd lock myself in the toilet and cry and then come out and do it."

Moss, who became associated with the "heroin chic" look after her early shoots, said "I had never even taken heroin - it was nothing to do with me at all."

"I was thin," she conceded. "But that's because I was doing shows, working really hard ... You'd get home from work and there was no food. You'd get to work in the morning, there was no food ... You don't get fed."

Moss has kind words for her time with Johnny Depp in the mid-1990s, when she said she felt taken care of. After their break-up in 1998, "I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying."

Now, she says, her years of partying and high living have ebbed. She married guitarist Jamie Hince in 2011 after a four-year romance. "I don't real ly go to clubs anymore. I'm actually quite settled."

"Living in Highgate (in London) with my dog and my husband and my daughter! I'm not a hell-raiser."

Still, she added, "Don't burst the bubble. Behind closed doors, for sure I'm a hell-raiser."

No script for Ugly movie actors

For the next film that Anurag Kashyap is all set to direct, the auteur director has selected a new work-method. No actor has been given a script. Instead they've all been given a brief outline for their characters.

Ronit Roy plays a Bengali teetotaler while Tejaswini Kolhapure plays his alcoholic wife. In fact, the two lead actors are unaware that they're working with each other!
They've been asked to report for the first day of shooting on October 21. When we asked Ronit about the novel shooting method he said, "I don't think any member of the cast has been given a script.I've only been asked to report on the set on October 21. Beyond that Anurag refused to say anything.I think he wants a certain kind of spontaneity in the characters and the script.I've been told I'm playing a Bengali teetotaler. Beyond that I will get to know what I've to do only when I reach the sets." While Ronit refrained from any further comment we got to know that there are no positive characters in Ugly. Every character is "dark and unfinished". In the words of a friend of Kashyap, "This would be Anurag's darkest film to date."

Yash Chopra’s dream song to be used in the end-titles

The romantic magician Yash Chopra's dream won't go to waste. The title song of Jab Tak Hai Jaan which was to be shot by the pasha of romance in Switzerland, would now be used in the end-titles.

The decision was taken at a flash-meeting held at the Yashraj studios last week immediately after Yashji's chautha where Aditya Chopra met up with the film's lyricist Gulzar .

Says a source, "Gulzar saab felt that the song shouldn't go to waste since it is not only the title song but also very close to Yashji's heart. Although Yashji couldn't shoot the song it was decided that the song would now be used along with the end titles of the film."

It is also being contemplated that the end-titles would feature visuals showing out-takes and moments during the shooting of the film.

"Jab Tak Hai Jaan is being packaged as a befitting send-off to Yashji," says the source.

Katrina regrets not shooting 'Jab Tak...' Switzerland song

Written By Unknown on Selasa, 30 Oktober 2012 | 21.44

Actress Katrina Kaif, who was looking forward to romance her 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' co-star Shah Rukh Khan in a song sequence to be shot in Switzerland for their upcoming film, is disheartened after Yash Chopra's demise and feels she would be bereft of the iconic moments lent by the director to his leading ladies.

A portion from the unfinished song was to be shot in Switzerland, a country whose scenic beauty has been the captured in so many of Chopra's films. He was to travel to Switzerland this month but had to hospitalised for dengue fever on October 13. He passed away on October 21.

Katrina was to wear a white chiffon sari, designed by Manish Malhotra for the song."It is sad that we did not get to shoot it (the song). We had zeroed in one a sari out of the 12 that were designed. I remember him (Yash Chopra) saying that it will be a party when we shoot in Switzerland," Katrina told reporters here during the press conference of 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'.

"We had planned the sequence for the song as in how it will be shot in cold water and all of that. It is unfortunate that I won't be able to do it," she added.

SRK, who has worked with Chopra in several films like 'Darr', 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai', 'Veer Zaara' and others, says a small portion of the song that is remaining to be shot will not happen as it would not anyway match the vision of Chopra.

"Just a minute and a half portion of the song was to be shot in Switzerland which we all wanted to have. For doing that portion of the song we don't have the heart. We will make it impure if we had to shoot... We have enough material for the song," Shah Rukh said.

The film is directed by Yash Chopra and star Shah Rukh, Katrina and Anushka Sharma, It will hit theatres on November 13.

No onscreen nudity for Naomie Harris

"Skyfall" actress Naomie Harris thinks it is "above the call of duty" for her to strip off on screen.

The actress' character, MI6 agent Eve Moneypenny, has sex with James Bond, played by actor Daniel Craig, in new 007 film, but Harris has ruled out ever taking her clothes off for a role.

"I don't like sex scenes in films, especially if you know from the film's story that someone is part of a couple," femalefirst.co.uk quoted the 36-year-old as saying.

"I don't want to see sex on screen, as you know they are together. It is also above the call of duty for me, as an actress, to take my clothes off. It should not be my job," she added.

Direction is what Farah enjoys most

After directing three films, of which two were super hits, Farah has teamed up with her favourite actor Shah Rukh Khan for her next directorial project Happy New Year.

To be produced by SRK, who also features in it, the film is in pre-production stage.

Farah said: "We will start shooting next year. We are doing pre-production at the moment. We are not ready to announce the cast as of now. We will announce it when Shah Rukh decides to announce."

Direction, she says, is what she enjoys most. It was a dream since she was 20, 21 years old and finally fulfilled it in 2004 with Main Hoon Na, which turned out to be a super hit.

"I enjoy direction. It encompasses all of it. I choreograph the songs. Then I know how the actors will act and what they will say. Then there is costume designing and set designing. So I am part of every field.

"Though it's not my specialty, I am telling the concerned people what I want and how it should be. So that is the most satisfying part," she said.

She recently made acting debut with Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi with Boman Irani, but facing the camera is not on the cards anymore.

"I know everyone loved the film and that will be it for me," she said.

Being an actress wasn't easy.

"It was very difficult for me. A lot of time is wasted. When you are an actor, you are just sitting and doing nothing for hours. Whereas when you are a director, you are using that time for creative purposes. So that was tough for me.

"But of course the aftermath of it was very exciting. Clearly actors are getting all the credit. Also, when you are an actor, you realise how much credit is given to you," she said.

She lost weight after seeing herself on screen.

"I was looking so fat in the movie... Now I am on a weight loss spree. I go to the gym like thrice a week. And then I am on a diet plan where I cheat once in a while. You have to live also, you know!" she said.

After juggling responsibilities of juggling work, family, children, and TV shows, does she find time for herself?

"I am with the kids the whole day. Everyday they have birthday parties... (I) take them to the mall, swimming classes. I only get one hour in the morning when I do my crossword and scan the papers."

I have been called the worst names in the industry: Vikram Bhatt

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is miffed with reports linking him with newbie Tia Bajpai.

Vikram quashes the false reports saying, "I am the kind of guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. I have never hidden my relationship and I have been called the worst names in the showbiz world. If there were anything going on between Tia, and me I would have come clean about it. I have said it again and I am going to say it once again, I am single. There is nothing going on between Tia and me".

So, how did this curious link-up arise? "Well, since Aftab is not in town, I am accompanying Tia to all the publicity events for my film 1920: Evil Returns. And since I am promoting the film with her, people must have gotten some weird ideas," he says.

So be it, Vikram. But the filmmaker has only kind words for his new find Tia who also featured in Haunted and the ill-fated film Lanka. "Tia has done a fabulous job. To go on the other side of the spectrum and look ugly is not easy and takes a lot of guts. For some actors, to let go of the glam look isn't easy. In fact, I showed the film to Mahesh Bhatt the other day and he was very pleased too with Tia. In Bollywood, our actresses are majorly required to look pretty all the time," he signs off.

I didn’t know Anjali was so depressed: Sunil Agnihotri

Written By Unknown on Senin, 29 Oktober 2012 | 21.44

Producer-director Sunil Agnihotri with his family members

Producer-director Sunil Agnihotri is in a state of shock since his 42-year-old wife Anjali committed suicide at her Khar residence on October 26. TOI spoke to him

How is the family coping with this terrible tragedy?
We're in a state of shock. Nobody who knew my wife Anju believes she's gone. More than me, my children are numbed by shock. I didn't know she was feeling so lonely. I was busy with scripting at my farm in Panvel.

Was there no one else at home when it happened?
There were carpenters working in the house. My mother is 80 and has recently undergone a heart surgery. She sits quietly in her room. No one ever imagined what my wife had in mind.

Didn't you call and check on her?
I always did. But for three days, I was busy penning the script along with my writers at my farm. I didn't call her for one whole day.

That's hardly reason to take one's life!
When my younger son came home from the gym and saw his mother in that state, he immediately called me. Before he went to the gym, she had been so normal. She gave no hint of what she was going to do. In fact, we were all planning a month-long holiday to the US from December 22.

So why did your wife break the rhythm of life so abruptly?
I don't know why she did this. She should've been happy that all her children are settled in life. At 22, my older son is a pilot. At 20, my younger son is assisting me. And our daughter has just started working in a TV channel. Perhaps we miscalculated the extent of her attachment to the family. She must have thought that her family has moved on.

Apparently your wife left a note saying she loved you, her children and her mother-in-law. What made her take such a drastic decision then?
I'll spend the rest of my life trying to find out the answer to that question. Anju was the best wife and mother in the world. Such a livewire; if you see her videos, she would dance to music and cook in the kitchen.

But all of us have to deal with our children growing up and moving on!
The problem was, Anju was more a friend and less a mother to her children. She used to play games with them till late in the night. All the time, there was laughter and happiness in the house. When all the children started working, she must have felt alone.

Why didn't she tell you she felt lonely?
I don't know. Maybe she didn't want to burden me. She never gave me an inkling of her depression. Only now I got to know that she had told a friend, "My entire family is busy with their own lives. Then what is the purpose of my life?" Why didn't she tell me she felt this way? If I had the slightest hint of what was bothering her, I would have done something about it.

TV stars Ashish and Archana engaged

Much to the disappointment of his female fans, Ashish Sharma, who plays Ranveer in 'Rab Se Sohna Isshq', got engaged to his long-time lady love Archana Taide in a private ceremony last week.

After a few years of knowing each other, the couple decided to seal the deal and declare their love for each other at a small engagement ceremony arranged for family and friends, in Mumbai. Their co-stars and friends from the industry put in an appearance as they wished the couple. The pair will tie the knot on January 30.

Ashish said, "We met in Baroda while I was shooting for Chandragupt Maurya and she had come to shoot for Mahima Shani Dev Ki. Since then, we have been going strong." When we asked him what he likes best in Archana, Ashish said, "Pretty much everything. But I am spent on her smile."

Since Archana is a Christian and Ashish a Brahmin, the marriage will take place in three different ways — one, according to Hindu tradition in Jaipur, the Christian wedding will happen in Goa and then, a court marriage.

An equally smitten Archana informed that they will complete a year of togetherness in January. "He is really a good soul with strong values. While a fiance generally gives you gifts, Ashish has given me my confidence back as I met him during the lowest phase of my life."

Not many know that Archana loves perfumes. Ashish has also gifted her lot of perfume bottles, to add to her collection of 150 bottles. The icing on the cake? Archana will play a major role in the same channel's soon to be launched show Qubool Hai.

Adam Levine buys $4.83 mn home

Singer Adam Levine has bought a six-bedroom house here for $4.83 million.

The almost 7,000 sq ft Benedict House in Beverly Hills sits on nearly four acres of land and comes with a large living room and family room, a cook's kitchen, a formal dining area, an office and views of the surrounding hills and city, reports contactmusic.com.

Even though the house is large enough for a family, Levine recently insisted he wants to wait to become a father as he doesn't think he would be a good parent right now.

"I think I've got a few years before a family happens, if I'm honest.

"It's going to happen, inevitably. I love kids and I want a family but I wouldn't be able to be a very good father right now so I'm going to wait until I can be.

"I will slow it down when I have a family. I am 33 but I'm still a baby in a lot of ways, the way that I act especially," he said.

Madonna booed by fans after endorsing Obama

Madonna got booed at and caused several audience members to walk out of her concert in New Orleans after she urged them to vote for President Obama.

The pop star, whose 'MDNA' tour has already been marked by several controversial incidents, performed in New Orleans on Saturday.

During the show, she asked concertgoers: "Who's registered to vote?" She then added that she didn't care who they voted for, "as long as you vote for Obama."

The 54-year-old, however, quickly changed her tune when she heard the crowd's reaction, the New York Daily News reported.

"Seriously, I don't care who you vote for ... Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote," she continued.

This is not the first time Madonna has drawn criticism for making a political statement on her MDNA tour.

The pop star confused fans in September when she told them to support the "black Muslim in the White House" at a Washington, D.C. concert.

'Rush' more satisfying than Rs.100 crore film: Emraan

Emraan Hashmi's film "Rush" released Oct 26 to a lukewarm response, but for the actor, it remains a special film. He says the movie is much more satisfying than his other hit films as he managed to fulfill the wish of its original director Shamin Desai, who died earlier this year.

"A journalist sent me an sms saying only 20 people are sitting in the hall for your film. So I replied, 'I feel more victorious in this film (Rush) than even a Rs.100 crore film because I fulfilled a dying man's last wish'," the 33-year-old said in an interview.

Desai, the original director of Rush, died in January 2011 after announcing his maiden directorial venture in 2010, originally titled Raftaar 24x7.

Later, his wife Priyanka Desai re-announced the film in October 2011 and titled it Rush.

Emraan says Rush, in which he plays a crime journalist, says the movie is a mission accomplished for him.

"Shamin, a friend, a colleague whose film could not be completed for almost three years and a production company that was in the doldrums... (so this was) The only way to kind of salvage this and kind of give to his wife and family and give him the due. He had worked so hard on the film and I wanted to release it and for me it's mission accomplished," he said.

For Emraan, its been a successful run at the box office so far, with movies like Jannat 2, Shanghai and Raaz 3.

Talking about the dynamics of the business, Emraan says technically his films have proved to be bigger money spinners than other Rs.100 crore films.

"A film making Rs.100 crore doesn't mean anything if it has been made for Rs.80 crores. You just make Rs.20 crore profit. But when you have a film like Raaz 3, which is made for Rs.10 crore and it clocks in close to Rs.100 crore, then that is much more than another film that makes Rs.100 crore," Emraan said.

"So, people don't see the business side of it! They only know the figure - Rs.100 crore. But then it doesn't mean anything. It's always in relation to how much money you put in the film. I think the media needs to club that in also. Technically, I think my films have made more money than other Rs.100 crore films," he added.

Emraan's forthcoming films include Ghanchakkar, Ek Thi Daayan and Unglee.

Written By Unknown on Minggu, 28 Oktober 2012 | 21.44

Star offsprings debut without their parents' help

Star offspring make their debut outside their production houses without any help from their parents. TOI explores the trend

Shunning the popular trend, Bollywood's star kids seem to be taking a different path. They are no longer relying on their parents to find them a toehold in the industry. The new crop of star kids are now making their debut outside home turf. Bollywood's gen next wants to prove its mettle and seek unfamiliar territories (though eventually they may return to their home production). Here's taking a look at some of the star kids who entered Bollywood without any assistance from their heavyweight parents.

Alia Bhatt: This star kid, who just made a splashing debut in a KJo film is the latest to join the Bollywood bandwagon. Though her celebrated filmmaker father Mahesh Bhatt and uncle Mukesh Bhatt run a successful production house, the pretty lass chose to step into the limelight through a different banner. But the role did not come easy to her. Alia had to audition along with 400 other faces to win the lead role in the film which launched two more new faces. Many say that the newly-minted seems to exude the same promise that her elder sister Pooja Bhatt did years back when she had made her debut.

Ranbir Kapoor: Though he belongs to the first family of Bollywood, Ranbir chose to make his debut in filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya where he starred opposite another star kid. Though the film did not fare well at BO, Ranbir went on to do some great films and rendered stellar performances which catapulted him to the top. Today, the actor is the youngest to be a part of the 100 crore-club.

Arjun Kapoor: Arjun is a classic example of another star kid who chose to write his own career script. Though he is the son of Boney Kapoor, one of the successful producers in the Hindi film industry today, Arjun made his debut with a one of India's only Hollywood-styled studios. Arjun's casting was an interesting one — he was spotted on a social networking website by the the casting director. Arjun had earlier said before his film's release, "My father is very happy that I am finding my own way out in the industry". Now, buzz has it that the actor is all set to work in a film in his father's production house.

Sonam Kapoor: Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam started her Bollywood journey as assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali made her debut in Bhansali's Saawariya. Sonam did act in a home production much later, Aisha, helmed by her sister Rhea. The film established her as a fashionista in Bollywood. Sonam has even confessed that she styles her daddy dearest most of the times.

Varun Dhawan: Another star-producer offspring, Varun debuted in style in a KJo film. Interestingly, his role fetched him quite a few appreciatory nods from critics and industry insiders. The young lad, did not seek his father's or his director- brother Rohit Dhawan's help. Instead, he was advised by father David to find a strong script and a banner. But, Varun still dreams to work with his father some day.

Tiger Shroff: There was a strong buzz that Tiger would be launched by Aamir Khan, but it was refuted by his father Jackie Shroff. Jackie's only concern is that his son gets a good production house to make his debut and that is seems to be happening now. Tiger will be making his debut in a Sajid Nadiadwala production which he has clinched on his own merit.

Times launches Bollywood star-rating index: Kareena, Salman on top

With the destinies of Bollywood's movers and shakers changing every Friday, to assess star ratings is no easy feat. And that's where the Times Celebex powered by zoOm! is going to make a difference.

The rating index is based on several measurable parameters, including the stars' Box Office performance, their ability to stay in the news across print, TV and online; their brand endorsement, and their popularity among fans on the Internet and social media. And all these will be cumulatively taken together to assign them a final rank called the 'T Score'. Times Celebex is a scientific and robust ranking system based on data collected from 200+ publications and 250+ TV channels, making it the first ever ranking system for Bollywood. The September 'T score' is based on the star's performance at the box office over the last two years along with their media visibility during the month of September 2012. While the first rating is based on September 2012 numbers, the next rating will be announced in the first week of January 2013 and will thereafter be a monthly rating.

Aamir remains the undefeated box office king with 3 Idiots being the highest grosser to date. But, since Talaash is on its way, everyone should watch out.

Timberlake apologises for mocking homeless people

Written By Unknown on Sabtu, 27 Oktober 2012 | 21.44

Justin TImberlake has issued an apology over a video shown during his wedding ceremony, which mocked homeless people.

The singer turned actor, who married Jessica Biel in a lavish 6.5-million-dollar ceremony in Italy last week, branded the clip "distasteful" and admitted he was "deeply sorry" about the incident.

He was eager to distance himself from the controversy, making it clear he had "no knowledge of its existence" and had "absolutely ZERO contribution to it."

The video was created by his real estate friend Justin Huchel.

It shows real homeless people on the LA streets purporting to be acquaintances who couldn't make it to the opulent ceremony.

The 'Sexy Back' hitmaker posted a 700 word open letter to his fans on his website on Friday.

"My friends are good people. This was clearly a lapse in judgment, which I'm sure no one who is reading this is exempt from. But, I don't believe it was made to be insensitive," the Daily Mail quoted him as writing in the letter.

"More so, I think it was made as a joke on me not having that many friends attending my own wedding (which IS kind of funny if you think about it).

"I think we can all agree that it was distasteful, even though that was not its intention. I want to say that, on behalf of my friends, family, and associative knuckleheads, I am deeply sorry to anyone who was offended by the video. Again, it was something that I was not made aware of. But, I do understand the reaction and, by association, I am holding myself accountable," he wrote.

Six months back too Rozlyn had gone topless for spreading the awareness about "breast cancer" and this month she again did a special photo shoot, since this is the month of breast cancer awareness. I was reluctant to play Bond, says Daniel Craig

Wanted to do films beyond 'Dhoom': Sanjay Gadhvi

Sanjay Gadhvi, who directed the first two films of the fast paced "Dhoom" series says he decided not to be part of " Dhoom 3" because he wanted to make films that come naturally to him.

"I am trying to do every kind of movie because the process by itself is so much fun. Every film makes you know yourself better so why repeat? If that was the idea, I would have made Dhoom 3. I wanted to move on and explore something else.

Otherwise after 'Dhoom 2', the most natural thing would have been to do Dhoom 3," Gadhvi said.

The filmmaker made his directorial debut with Tere Liye (2000) which went unnoticed. His first film with Yash Raj Films was Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002). The film enjoyed moderate success.

He first gained fame when he directed the action thriller Dhoom (2004) and then directed the sequel Dhoom 2. The 46-year-old director says his next musical film Ajab Gazabb Love which releases today, is a light hearted film.

"Funny things come naturally to me. In fact my crew and assistant directors used to ask me to make a light hearted film. I have a knack of saying something really funny while keeping a poker face," he added.

Gadhvi also said that he does not hesitate in admitting that the non-performance of Sanjay Dutt-Imran Khan starrer Kidnap did play in his mind.

"The backlash that came after Kidnap made me sure that I want people to come, have a good time in my film, forget worries and don't worry about something serious to ponder over.

"My next film had to be light hearted. After the lack of intended response from 'Kidnap', the idea was to have some fun. This is where Ajab Gazabb Love came in handy," he said.

Ajab Gazabb Love stars Jackky Bhagnani and Nidhi Subbaiah in lead roles.

One picture of Fox while she was pregnant is accompanied with the headline, "Megan Fox Looking Fat In A Bikini."

"While we appreciate Megan Fox's concern for her image, we find it hard to believe that a woman who spent two Transformers movies bent over with her breasts pressed together could have her reputation damaged by a blatantly satirical website," a representative for the website said.

Bollywood has immense impact on our lives: Pakistani actress

Bollywood's influence on Pakistani lives and on its film industry is undeniable, says model-actress Aamina Sheikh, a well-known face in the neighbouring country's fashion and entertainment sector.

"One can't deny the Bollywood influence in Pakistan," Aamina told IANS, adding that people in Pakistan were as passionate about Bollywood as Indians.

"So much so that they want to compete with Bollywood films. We, as actors, always say that we can't compare the two industries at infrastructural and other level. But people can't help but compare."

"Bollywood has an immense impact on our lives. Who doesn't want to take a deep dive into it," added the 29-year-old.

Asked about her favourite actor and who she would want to work with, Aamina answered promptly: "Abhishek Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor would be nice."

Aamina, who is the face of various renowned consumer product brands in Pakistan, was in India for the first time for her forthcoming film Josh, which was screened at the 14th Mumbai Film Festival (MFF) here.

Directed by Iram Parveen Bilal, Josh is the only fiction film from Pakistan screened at MFF in the last five years. It is also the only film from the neighbouring country to be showcased at the festival this year.

"I am here for the first time and what better way to come for work through work. Josh is a film that has been made with a lot of passion and heart. I am hoping it does well," she said.

Talking about her character in the film she said: "I play Fatima, who has a group of friends who are very progressive and represent the urban youth from cities like Karachi and Mumbai. It is through her friends that she explores her nanny's village. The nanny runs a khaana ghar that Fatima attempts to run after her nanny dies.

"As she starts the journey, she comes across a lot of complexities and tries to address them head on. So the film is about her journey of exploration of the village, which has mystery and lies."

Josh will break the stereotype of the country, hopes Aamina.

"The plot of the film is like an allegory of what Pakistan is right now. It is a bird's eye view of what the country is. The story makes you touch the heart of Pakistan and break the stereotype image of the country," she said.

Aditya Chopra as YRF’s new face?

Written By Unknown on Rabu, 24 Oktober 2012 | 21.44

With the founder of Yash Raj no more, the concern is whether his reclusive son can step up and lead

Even as the film industry mourns the loss of an institution, an air of uncertainty has enveloped one of its most powerful banners.

With the founder of Yash Raj Films no more, the concern is not whether the show will go on as much as who will now be the face of this masses-friendly banner?

While the late Yash Chopra's sons Aditya and Uday are extremely capable of carrying the YRF legacy forward, Aditya's conspicuous lack of interactive and social skills, as opposed to his father's unconditionally gregarious nature, is what is really worrying those close to YRF.

A friend of the Chopra family said, "Forget about social interaction. Adi is a recluse. He doesn't like being seen in the public domain. So far, he was happy in his space, functioning faceless, letting his father be the face and voice, the life and spirit of the banner. But what happens now?"

An actor associated with the production house spoke in Aditya's defence, "Yash has left behind a fantastic legacy. He will be missed. He is irreplaceable. But production plans at Yash Raj will suffer no setback. Adi has an outstanding creative mind. He has the knack of sniffing out acting and directorial talent and making the best use of it. Names like Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and Arjun Kapoor or Maneesh Sharma, Habib Faisal, Kabir Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar have all been discovered and groomed by Adi. For the last decade or so, Yash had receded to the background to allow Adi to take over the reins of production."

Meanwhile, a source from YRF said, "The company is run by excellent administrators who know their jobs in and out and care for the banner like they would their own family. Adi doesn't need to stretch himself to be seen and heard in the public domain. As for Yash, he was friendly, yes. But Adi is not hostile to social exposure. He is just wary of social contact. He won't change himself. He doesn't need to. Finally, it's the products that give Yash Raj their premium value."

Another friend of the family said, "I've been very close to Yash for many years. Ek ghar ka mahaul tha. After him, things are bound to change. Adi has a different approach to the family business. Earlier, actors and technicians who worked for the banner were part of the family. I think things would get a lot more business-like now."

While there is no doubt the banner has passed into very capable hands for it has been Aditya who has been helming the many productions undertaken by it for long now, it is largely felt Adi will have to go on some serious goodwill hunting to be able to step into his father's rather large shoes.

Dharam Oberoi back in Sanjay Dutt’s life

The actor, who seems to be on a mission to mend fences, has patched up with his ex-manager

We don't know if his wife Manyata, who has governed his friend-list, is responsible for his new actions, but Sanjay Dutt is on a mending-fences spree. A few days ago at Amitabh Bachchan's birthday bash at Film City, he kissed and made up with his friend-turned-foe Sanjay Gupta. A few days after that, we heard that Kangna Ranaut landed up at his place for Mata Ki Chowki. Obviously his Rascals costar had not come uninvited. And the latest is he is back on the same page with his ex-manager Dharam Oberoi, who had joined him when he had a big fight with Sanjay Gupta over financial issues in Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007).

Ram Gopal Varma's film Department saw an ugly controversy emerging between Dutt and Oberoi, which led to Dutt washing his hands off Oberoi. Dutt's confidantes warned him about Oberoi's high-handedness. After Varma lashed out at Oberoi and made several allegations against him, blaming him for the failure of Department, the message was loud and clear to Dutt that the time had come to show the door to Oberoi. Post Department, Dutt made Manyata the CEO of his production house Sanjay Dutt Productions, a post occupied by Oberoi til then. Thereafter, Oberoi and he were not on talking terms.

Talking about the recent patch-up between the two, a source told, "Dutt and Oberoi frequently text each other these days. They even talk on the phone very often." Added the source, "It would be difficult to trace who waved the white flag, but the fact is that Dutt and Oberoi are absolutely fine with each other now. They even address each other as 'Brother' in their text messages."

When asked about this development, Dutt and Oberoi refrained from comment.

Like they say, Bollywood has no permanent friends or enemies. We wonder who will be back in Dutt's life next? Will it be his ex- Man Friday cum secretary Kalim, who controlled Sanjay's dates and even money and cars, and had opted out of Dutt's payroll around early 2009 rather than be disrespected by the actor and his wife?

I was not aware of Naxal issue: Arjun Rampal

Actor Arjun Rampal, who will be next seen in Prakash Jha's " Chakravyuh", says he was not much aware about the naxalism issue before he started filming.

Rampal, 39, thinks the movie is a must watch for youth as it throws light on the present scenario of the nation.

"I was not much aware about the issue and this is the reason why I feel that this film is important for the youth. They need to know where exactly does the heartland of India lie and what exactly is transpiring there.

"It is going to open many eyes because the film explores the situation that our country is in," Rampal said.

The film revolves around Rampal's character of an IPS officer Adil Khanbbv and the actor says it is the toughest role he has essayed in his decade old career.

"The film is full of complicated characters and the part which I am playing is one of the toughest that I have played in a very long time. There is so much happening to this character, right from the dilemma that he goes through to the pain of betrayed friendship to a conflict like situation happening at home with his wife, who is also a cop," he added.

But Rampal gives all the credit to Jha, who gave him a new lease of life with his last outing "Rajneeti".

"All credit to Prakash Jha that he has made all his character well layered and also very justified in what they do. The reason why everything comes on screen carries meaning and purpose because Prakash comes with a lot of clarity," he added.

"Chakravyuh", which will hit theatres on October 26, also stars Abhay Deol, Manoj Bajpayee, Om Puri, Esha Gupa and newbie actress Anjali Patil in pivotal roles.

"Abhay's (Deol) character too is very layered and it goes through huge metamorphosis. On the other hand Manoj's (Bajpayee) character is very hard hitting. Om's (Puri) part has been woven quite beautifully in the film.

"Prakash has a knack of bringing in multiple characters under the same roof and giving them good acknowledgement and wonderful depth," he added.

Salman, Priyanka to groove in Dubai

Written By Unknown on Selasa, 23 Oktober 2012 | 21.44

The new '5am friends' Salman and Priyanka will perform on stage in the same show

Following speculations of their '5am friendship' ever since they were clicked together in the wee hours of the morning, it comes as no surprise that the two of them are ready to work together again. Come December, they will star together in a show to be held in Dubai.

While the performances of Salman and Priyanka are still being finalised, the indications are that the two may not shake a leg together per se. Said a source, "However, everything is not finalised on the show itinerary. As of now, it is being touted as simply a big event in Dubai with Salman and Priyanka toplining it. What thus clearly follows is that Salman approved of Priyanka's presence in the show."

The show in question is being organised by a local Dubai organiser.

While Priyanka will fly to Dubai from Hyderabad, where she will be shooting for Zanjeer, Salman will begin his air journey from Mumbai.

Salman and Priyanka will be working on the same project after the longest time. The two have never worked together after the dud God Tussi Great Ho in 2008.

According to rumours, the once good friends fell out when Salman helped Katrina Kaif to bag a lead role in Namastey London, which Priyanka was supposed to do. The incident, according to industry insiders, led to such a big a rift between them that delayed God Tussi... by almost a year.

As time rolled by, Salman was also not happy with Priyanka's good equation with Shah Rukh Khan. While promoting Bodyguard, he took a dig at Priyanka saying that Kareena Kapoor is the real 'Desi Girl', a nickname that Priyanka has had since Dostana days.

All's well that ends well. The latest whispers in Bollywood are that the two will star opposite each other in a film, soon.

High drama in Bangladesh for Shabana Azmi

Shabana Azmi created quite a furore in Bangladesh on Saturday when she reached Dhaka to represent her late father Kaifi Azmi who was being honoured, along with 57 other dignitaries from across the world for their support of Bangaldesh's War Of Liberation in 1971.

Shabana who had to be in Dhaka for the function to represent her father had to be back in Mumbai in time for her mother's birthday the same day.

She made it very clear to the organizers of the function in Dhaka that she can only be at the function for a few minutes before she had to return to the Dhaka international airport in time for the flight back to Mumbai to reach in time for her mother's birthday.

Apparently Bangaldesh's prime minister Sheikh Hasina made sure Shabana made it back to the airport on time. The entire route from the venue of the function to the airport was cleared of traffic and Shabana was personally escorted by a fleet of government vehicles.

Confirming the hullaballo that she created on the Dhaka roadways on Saturday Shabana says, "Yes ,the Prime Minister's office had put the entire machinery on red alert! It was crazy. But you know what? I'm glad I was there for this occasion."

Among the super-icons with a socio-political voice who were honoured in Dhaka were George Harrison and Joan Baez. Shabana was looking forward to meeting Joan whose searing 'Song For Bangladesh' encapsulated the 1971 Bangladesh war of liberation so succinctly . But Joan didn't show up.

Says Shabana, "My Abba along with 57 others were honoured by the government of Bangladesh for their support to the liberation struggle. I was handed over the award by the President and PM of Bangladesh. I wept like a baby."

Water woes in the Bigg Boss house

The Badshahs, Begums & their Ghulams wake up to the regal track - 'Badshah oh Badshah'. The housemates wake up to aday full of surprises. Rajev is seen calling in his Ghulam, Niketan to serve him some tea in bed. Sayantani on the otherside greets her Begums and brings them tea voluntarily. In sometime, the housemates are seen relaxing in their favoritearea - the garden.

Here, Rajev jokes about how Niketan's grandfather must have been a captain and how Urvashi'sgrandmother must have been the head chef. This in turn angers Niketan & Urvashi and they along with Karishma bitch about his nasty jokes. Sampat is in her usual entertaining self, as she sings for the housemates with her own songs.

Sidhu who is a Ghulam in the task is seen avoiding most of his duties, right from wearing a lungi, to sitting on the chair and eating before the Badshahs & Begums. The housemates try to subtly tell Sidhu to do the task. After a while, Niketan gets irritated and removes his lungi and compares himself to Sidhu by saying he is no lesser than him and a task is a task, this partiality is unacceptable. Sayantani, Urvashi & Karishma advise him to follow it like he has and not act so adamant.

Sapna & Vrijesh are seen working in the kitchen and bitching about Sidhu as they feel he gets special treatment in the house. Meanwhile, Badshah Rajev has one of his flirtatious moments with Karishma in the garden area. A while later, Ghulam Karishma is seen lamenting on her own plight in the kitchen. After this comes the big surprise, as Bigg Boss assembles everyone in the living area and announces that the housemates have failed the assigned task rather miserably! Bigg Boss announces that their punishment would be a complete stop in the water supply in the house and their luxury budget would be nil for theweek.

Urvashi, Niketan & Vrijesh are clearly angry with Sidhu and they express that his non participation in the task has led to these circumstances. Sidhu calls all the housemates together and starts expressing his viewpoints on the situation.

Meanwhile, Vrijesh is seen in the washroom with Aseem who comes to call him out for the meeting. Vrijesh sarcastically tells Aseem to tell the rest that he would join the meeting post a shower! Post the meeting, Niketan & Vrijesh bitch about Sidhu with much disgust. Sapna joins the party and expresses her displeasure with Sidhu's stubborn behavior.

Karishma is seen upset & crying in the garden area as she feels guilty for her actions and apologizes to Vrijesh, Niketan. Taking no offence, Vrijesh calms her down and makes her smile. While on the other hand, an arrogant Sidhu tries to justify his actions and pacifies Karishma via his trademark lectures. Sayantani and Aseem are seen supporting Sidhu and try to cheer Karishma after which Sidhu continues his philosophical talks with Aseem. Delnaaz is seen talking to Sidhu about the blame game that is going on in the house with a stubborn Sidhu still trying to prove that he is right.

Towards the end of the night, Delnaaz & Urvashi are seen talking to the camera and literally begging Bigg Boss to start the watersupply in the house at least by morning as the ladies especially are suffering with back pain etc. The lights go off and all the housemates go to bed contemplating their water woes.
