Ekta Kapoor's debut on Life OK as a producer with her new show Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh has caught attention.
Participation of seasoned actors like Sonali Bendra, Apurva Agnihotri and Harsh Chhaya has already grabbed eyeballs. Though the czarina of small screen calls it a show with a social message, the look says something else. When Apurva was asked whether the show was about an extra marital affair or an attraction between two beautiful people, he said, " I won't deny the fact that when there are two beautiful people involved, there is an immediate attraction but I can't say if it is about an extra marital affair. The show will see some twists and turns according to how the audience react to situations. So we want the audience to direct the flow of the show."

Post his stint in Bigg Boss 7, Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh can be termed Apurva's come back to fiction on television with the cameo role in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai being the last time he was seen in any. So has he noticed any changes since the last time he was here? "TV schedules are hectic as usual. But concept-wise things have indeed changed. Channels are trying to experiment with new things and accordingly the audience too will start accepting these changes like we did for this show. But it's sad that if you do something different in cinema, it gets appreciated but somehow on the small screen, if you try to do something different, it doesn't click. So we are just hoping that such different kinds of shows work and audience like such shows," explains Apurva.

In female-oriented shows such as the one that he is currently a part of, the male characters get overshadowed. So what made Apurva accept the role? "I think any successful show is a result of the entire team's effort. I just like to work hard go to Goa and enjoy myself. I am always in my own world. I just like to be happy," he asserts. It is the actor's first show with Ekta. "It's beautiful so far. I just love the way she narrates a story," says Apurva

Apurva will be seen alongside Sonali Bendre in the show. Ask him about the experience working with a seasoned actress like her and he quips, "It has been wonderful working with her so far. She is a beautiful person on the inside. When you have a beautiful heart, you can't hide it. If I am arrogant, I will appear so no matter how hard I try to hide it," reasons the actor.Apurva is married to the gorgeous Shilpa Saklani but was he ever had a crush on Sonali Bendre? "My answer is yes!Every man on the planet will love a stunning woman like Sonali Bendre. I would be lying if I say I wasn't," Apurva smiles.

Talking about his character in the show Ajeeb Daastan Hain Yeh, Apurva says, "To be very honest, I am making mistakes while doing the character but it's not the same stuff which I have done earlier. This character is a bit quirky, he is always in his own world, lost and thinking about something else. He might be physically present with you but mentally he is miles away thinking about rather trivial things. Compared to the characters I have essayed earlier, this one is more tough. I make a lot of mistakes in this and then I rectify it immediately. The earlier characters were more easier as I usually played an arrogant boss."

The actor who was a part of the Bigg Boss 7 house hasn't had the time to catch up with the show's latest season. "Frankly speaking, I haven't seen a single episode of Bigg Boss this season. I don't get time to see them. I am busy shooting for my own show and it is very early to judge anyone right now. It's just the beginning and no one has started fighting in the house so far, it seems. As soon as the contestants start fighting, the TRPs will go up. It takes a lot of time to gain respect and one mistake spoils the whole image in the show," says Apurva.

Apurva has been away from the limelight for a long time now but was it always intended this way? "I am born in this manner. I am always in my own world. I want to be happy. I feel acting is not the only thing which I want to do in my life. So I don't mind being away from the cameras for a while. It's fine if people don't know me. It happens with everybody and hence I don't take things very seriously. I want to direct a film before I die. Having said that many of the actors think that direction is easy there is nothing great in it. But I know it is one of the most creative and toughest jobs to do - actors come and go to give their shots, directors wait and work. But photography is my priority. If you start photography you will see things differently, your perception will change," reasons Apurva.
