Sonakshi, Imran sent back after a mob barged onto the sets

High drama unfolded on the sets of Milan Luthria's Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2 in Dongri yesterday afternoon. Residents of the neighbourhood, who apparently had problems with the music being played on the sets, barged inside and demanded that filming be stopped immediately.

Apparently, the situation turned so ugly that Milan was forced to tell his lead actors - Sonakshi and Imran Khan - to turn back and head home. Sonakshi was just five minutes away from the sets and Imran was at a distance of about three km when all this happened and they were asked to beat a retreat.

An eyewitness told TOI, "Some people suddenly entered the sets and started shouting 'Bandh Karo'. The production unit was shocked and tried to argue reason with them but without any success. The crowd was quite aggressive."

The eyewitness said that with this sudden turn of events, Luthria was very concerned about his actors' safety, Sonakshi in particular. Even Imran was informed. Both were asked to take a U-turn.

A friend of Milan said, "The crowd did not want the shoot to continue. It only made sense to call it off, instead of putting our foot down, and making the situation worse."

When contacted, Milan confirmed the news and said, "Some locals had an issue with the music when it was actually rather soft. I was very concerned about Sonakshi and Imran. I chose the safe option of calling for a 'pack up'."
