Vidhu Vinod Chopra directs his first Hollywood film

The reason Vidhu Vinod Chopra has been missing in action in Bollywood is because he was busy shooting his first Hollywood film 'Broken Horses' in Los Angeles.

The film, starring Vincent D'Onofrio ( Men In Black) along with Anton Yelchin ( Star Trek) and Chris Marquette ( Alpha Dog), is an epic thriller about the bonds of brotherhood, the laws of loyalty and the futility of violence.

Coincidentally, Vinod's first visit to LA was 30 years ago, when he was fresh out of film school and his 20-minute documentary had been nominated for the Oscars. At that time, he had no money and had travelled on an economy ticket paid for by the Government of India along with a $20 per day allowance for five days.

Thirty years later, he has made it on his own, living five months out of LA.
