Zila Ghaziabad: Vinod Bachchan recalls his days of struggle

As his film Zila Ghaziabad is all set to hit the theatres, producer Vinod Bachchan recalls his days of struggle. Coming from Etah in Uttar Pradesh, his family was not even remotely connected to films.

"By the time I was in my adolescence, I had lost my parents. I came to Mumbai with just 500. I started approaching people for work and as an assistant, worked in various departments of filmmaking like direction and editing. But things were not easy monetarily. Then I set up a real estate business and my finances improved," he says.

Happy about how Zila Ghaziabad has shaped up, Vinod says he had to face many obstacles while making the film. "This is my first multi-star cast film. Hurdles are a part of filmmaking and if you can't face them, don't make films. Thankfully, I enjoyed everyone's support — from Bharat Shah and Mohammed Fasih to Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Vivek Oberoi. The other actors — Paresh Rawal, Ravi Kishan, Minissha Lamba and Geeta Basra — were also cooperative."

Zila Ghaziabad, a Vinod Bachchan film presented by Bharat Shah and Mohammed Fasih, and released by Showman International, releases on February 22.
