Kirti Kulhari's claim to fame film Shaitan, where her kiss with Kalki Koechlin was much talked about, put her into the Bollywood map and since then she has got various offers. But Kirti plans to take things easy and make the right choices.
She feels that although it is important for a new comer to be visible once the first film is released, it is also important to choose the right projects. She says, "I don't like to be in the news unnecessarily. I want people to know me for my work alone. I had disappeared from the radar because I was busy shooting non-stop for my upcoming four films. I think a newcomer should wait for the right script. The story line needs to be interesting."
Kirti, who will next be seen in India's first zombie movie, Rise of the Zombie, is excited about her role. "I feel proud and lucky to be the part of the first zombie release in India where I will be the first Indian actress to play girlfriend to a zombie. The subject of the film is different and the experience was mind-blowing," says Kirti.
And coincidently, for this film as well, her steamy scenes with co-star Luke Kenny have been a point of discussion. With her own admission, Kirti commented that she was not comfortable doing those scenes. Ask her about that, and she says, "I will do steamy scenes when I feel that the role and story demands it. There are a few such scenes in my upcoming film, but they were necessary for the storyline."
Kirti has till now done hatke films choosing scripts that have a different edge to them. But even after doing films like Shaitan, she aspires to work with the commercial banners. She says, "I am open to all kinds of scripts and directors."
