When TOI probed into the matter, it emerged that the actress was expected to do a special song with John Abraham and Sophie Chaudhry in the film. While that did not at all sound like an 'unreasonable demand', a friend of the petite actress had to say this: "Kangna put her foot down on the song and dance number because she believed it was not in sync with her character in the film. She plays a Maharashtrian widow. The director wanted her to do a jig while reminiscing about her past. And that too in dare-bare outfits! Does that make any sense?"
Her friend also alleges that this song was not part of the original script, and was thought up much later, to spice things up. Reports suggest Kangna and Sanjay Gupta could never arrive at consensus over this song, prompting the former to stay away from all the promotional activities of the film so far.
While producers Balaji Motion Pictures declined to comment on the issue, a friend of Gupta called up to say: "Kangna is the heroine of the film and she should stand up for it. But she is just being difficult. She knew right from day one, that this song was integral to the film. Initially, she had no issues with it, we wonder why she found it so objectionable later. If she is not promoting the film, it's her loss. Every actor in the film has come forward to steer it, only Kangna has chosen to stay away."
While Kangna hasn't attended any of the film's events held over March and April, Gupta retaliated by giving her well-attended birthday bash on March 24 the royal ignore.
