I never really wanted to act for fame: Amyra Dastur

Having stepped into the film industry at the age of 20 with her first film 'Issaq', Amyra Dastur says she is scared of the glamour world and is finding it difficult to deal with it.

"I'm an introvert and a shy person. I'm having a tough time coping in showbiz. I'm absolutely terrified of it. Each time you walk out, somebody wants to click a picture. I never really wanted to act for fame," she says.

But acting has been her dream and she plans to continue with it. She is looking at other film offers, but refuses to reveal anything unless the deal is sealed. "My bua is very superstitious, she's asked me not to reveal anything unless I sign on the dotted line. As soon as I do, I'm going to tell everyone. Even I have become superstitious like her - like I would never open an umbrella under the roof, it's considered a bad omen," Amyra says.

Though she was born and brought up in Mumbai, Amyra says her Hindi is not good and she is working on it. "My Hindi is not strong, I am a Parsi girl and we speak English and Gujarati at home, so I'm working on that," she says.
