Lara told TOI, "I was into fashion since my modelling days and thus I've always been more on the creative bent than business side of things. I've actually sat with karigars to present a collection of saris that are high on bling, zari (festive) yet affordable and classy and I'm not competing in any designer's space."
Most designers have their own muses and Lara has her favourites too. "I'd love to see Sonam Kapoor or Deepika Padukone wear my saris," she admits.
About her break from acting, Lara explains, "You go through a phase in your life. I wanted a family, a child and watching my little one grow. I didn't want to be torn between career and family. I didn't miss acting in films as I'm very happy to be a hands-on mother. Saira (her daughter) is 18 months now. She goes to a playschool and now that I have some time, I want to do work that's different from what I have done before."
