Vidya Balan's 'Ooh La La' moment

The charmer she is, the visit of actor Vidya Balan to Thanapur in Mirzapur district was an eagerly awaited event. She was in the village under the project 'Chotte kadam pragati ki ore', initiated by CRY India and a hair oil company for the empowerment of women to support children's education.

Dressed in a yellow sari, the pretty actor braving the heat, interacted with the village women who were delighted to have her among them. Chatting with the village oldies, Vidya asked, "Aap ne meri koi film dekhi hai?" Prompt came the reply, "Ooh La La." "Aur Kahaani?" she asked and when they replied in the negative, she said she will ensure that a special screening of the film is held in the village.

Vidya was accompanied by her mother Saraswathy Balan. The mother-daughter duo, who had reached Varanasi on Saturday, went out for shopping and Saraswathy bought Banarasi silk dupattas for both daughters - Vidya and Priya.
