"Popular actors attract customers and boost sales," said Mohammed Jamil Akhtar, owner of a firework shop in the city.
Then again, Ben10, Mr Bean, Chota Bheem and Harry Potter are there for the kids. Popular male actors like Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan are also part of the merchandise. "The actors help attract customers," said Mohammad Salim, a city-based fireworks distributor.
The faces on the boxes also include cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. After all, when it comes to India, cricket is the next best thing after Bollywood.
