Sunil aka Gutthi to host a show on Star Plus?

The news of Sunil Grover's exit from popular comedy show, Comedy Nights With Kapil, hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, spread like wild fire.

But it was TOI that exclusively reported the real reasons behind Sunil's exit. We had reported that Sunil, popularly known as Gutthi, wants to host a show of his own. And now, we are back to update you with another development. If sources are to be believed, Sunil may soon be seen hosting his own show on Star Plus.

Apparently, the makers had originally approached Krushna Abhishek for the show. The actor being contractually bound by Sony Entertainment Channel could not take it up.

Says the source, "The show is on the lines of Kapil Sharma's comedy show. The host will be required to interview celebrities. Krushna didn't want to leave Comedy Circus mid-way and hence, declined the offer. Sunil is almost confirmed on the show. It will be interesting to see how the two friends fare in their respective shows."

It is to be remembered that Colors, which airs Comedy Nights With Kapil, had poached Giaa Manek — the original Gopi Bahu of Star Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya — for their dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. We guess Star Plus has returned the favour by roping in the rival's popular character.
