The director sought the legal notice of offenses punishable under sections 415, 417, 418, 499, 500 and 503 of The Indian Penal Code, 1860 and section 66 A of the Information Technology Act, 2008 in addition to the relevant provisions of the Indian Contract Act , 1872 and The Specific Relief Act, 1963 against the actress for offenses such as abrupt attention, austere adherence and offense of criminal intimidation with her malafide intention of somehow tarnishing and defiling Rupesh Paul's and Kamasutra 3D's and its crews reputation within the film community and among the general public while posting a quantity of 'filthy', 'mucky', 'ill mannered' and 'indecent' comments and abusive signs. The notice is dated for January 15, 2014 when Sherlyn Chopra, without any prior information, declared on a public forum that she has quit the movie and has been abusing the director and the movie in a series of tweets and pictures following that. The picture showing her middle fingers up for the director leased with uncountable foul tweets against the director by her followers and her while also she appreciating her followers' posts against director.

The director confirmed that there has been no personal provocation from his end and that he is shocked with such behavior from the actress. She raised the controversy with the most ubiquitous insulting gestures against him. Further, during the course of the posts, she had been using vulgar terms against the director.
