Despite the lack of banners and online promotions, news about Shaadi Ke Side Effects stars Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan attending SRCC's drama festival Histrionica spread in North Campus, leading to a packed crowd in the college. Owing to recent incidents of stampedes and poor management in other colleges, organizers here had the Delhi police's support. Barricades kept the crowd away from the stage and officers posted at the entry gates ensured the event remained an SRCC-only affair.

The barricades proved useful when the stars did not arrive until 3.30pm, more than two hours after their scheduled time of 1.15pm. And when the popular Shaadi Ke Side Effects song, Brahmachari, played for the umpteenth time at around 3.30pm, the crowd actually started booing at the hosts. Thankfully, the cast arrived shortly afterwards, and when both the actors apologized for being late, all was forgiven.
Vidya, overwhelmed by the cheering, said, "I wish I was on the other side of this stage because this energy is so infectious." Farhan got the crowd to scream even louder by saying, "Come on SRCC, you can do better than this!" Their fans requested specific dialogues and songs from the duo. Chants of Ooh La La would start whenever Vidya took the mic, while the boys in the audience screamed for the onscreen Milkha Singh. Vidya jokingly said, "I am Silk and he is Milk. Itna bhaag Milkha matt bolo, warna yeh sach mein bhaag jaayega." Vidya showed off her Silk Smitha charm by repeating her famous 'entertainment' dialogue from The Dirty Picture, while Farhan narrated one of the poems from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Some girls in the audience with very specific demands got Farhan to remove his black sunglasses. Going with the mood, Vidya said, "I thought yeh tumhe kuch aur utaarne ko bol rahi thi." The two spoke about their characters in the film and keeping the young college crowd in mind, Vidya asked, "How many of you are in a relationship?" And on getting a good cheer, Farhan added, "Shaadi hi nahi, yeh har couple ki story hai. Yahaan ke saare boys samajh sakte main kya bol raha hoon." Towards the end, both the actors got off the stage and went ahead to meet the crowd right at the end of the barricades, which gave the bouncers a scare and the excited students more reasons to cheer.
