Has 'Comedy Circus' ended?

Looks like one of the longest running stand-up comedy shows, Comedy Circus, has started feeling the heat of the TRP-raker, Comedy Nights With Kapil.

The show, despite having tried every trick in the trade to better its ratings, has failed to keep up with the competition. The ratings of CC have been plummeting and the latest development is that its shoot has been stalled. While the production house is claiming that they will be back soon with a revamped look, many feel it has reached a dead end and might not return, at least not in the near future. What's shocking is that the set of the show has been dismantled. Says a source, "We have not been given any reason for stalling the shoot. We have been told that they have a bank of episodes to suffice this month."

However, another source claims that the show is not expected to return any time soon. "They have never taken such a long break during their seven-year run, so why now? The shoot, which was slated to take place this Thursday, has been called off. The channel has decided to pull the plug on it because it's an expensive show and has not been garnering ratings. Though the cast has been told that they will return in a new avatar, the fact is, it is not returning."

When contacted, Krushna Abhishek said, "We have a bank of episodes, which will last this month. It will return in a revamped avatar is what we have been told."
