1) By releasing the film in 2014, Godzilla celebrated its 60th anniversary.
2) Director Gareth Edwards wanted Godzilla to be an anti hero.
3) The film was made at an estimated budget of $160 million.
4) Initially, the film was tentatively titles as Godzilla 3D to the Max and was to be a remake of director Yoshimitsu Banno's Godzilla vs. Hedorah.
5) It was rumoured that Guillermo del Toro was approached to helm this ambitious project. However, Gareth Edwards finally directed it.
6) As per media reports, director Gareth Edwards added aspects of the faces of bears, dogs and eagles into Godzilla's face design.
7)The famous Godzilla roar was improvised and worked upon to make it more impactful.
