'Dark women cannot be heroines in Bollywood'

Actress Nikita Gokhale, who has shed all inhibitions by posing nude for a photo shoot, says that her chances in getting meaty roles in mainstream Bollywood cinema are meek.

Reason: The actress is dusky. The actress who is presently doing a Marathi film revolving around tribal issues, said, "I am not heroine material as I am not tall. I am dusky and I don't have the conventional looks which are required for being a mainstream Bollywood heroine," said Nikita. The actress will also be a part of Punjabi films soon. "I want to play the role of a freedom fighter some day. Or a role like Kanchi, in Subhash Ghai's film. I know I cannot fit the bill of a heroine as I am more like Smita Patil and will be appropriate in serious roles. In Marathi, I would also like to do films with Ravi Jadhav," Nikita added.
