His daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar revealed, "My dad is like my friend. Whenever we have a party, he is at ease with my friends and strikes a conversation easily on any topic. He sometimes even makes a drink for them. How many fathers would actually do that? He is fantastic with young people around. Another cool thing about him is that he is a great cook."

The father-daughter duo worked together in the Marathi film, 'Ekulti Ek' which also marked Shriya's acting debut in the industry.
