'Entertainment' earns Rs 36.69 crores on first weekend

After the hullabaloo around 'Kick' straight for three weeks, we now have a new film to talk about. Akshay Kumar's 'Entertainment' has managed to get a good start at the box office that has taken its figures to Rs 36.69 crores according to Koimoi.

As we have already reported before that 'Entertainment' managed to make Rs 11.16 crores on the first day. The film took a slight slump on Saturday when it made only Rs 11.53 crores when it was expected to do much better on Saturday. However, a good word of mouth for the film helped its box office business and Akshay Kumar starrer 'Entertainment' ended the Sunday with approximately Rs 14 crores.

The report further mentions that 'Entertainment' which is a comedy drama is doing well in cities like Delhi, Pune, Lucknow and Kanpur. The film stars Tamannaah Bhatia alongside Akshay for the first time. The film released ahead of the Raksha Bandhan holiday and is expected to do well.

However, unlike Salman Khan's 'Kick' that had no major Hindi film release the week after its release, Entertainment' will face tough competition from 'Singham Returns' that will release this Friday and cash in on the Independence Day holiday.

Let's wait and watch, how well does 'Entertainment' perform at the box office when it faces stiff competition from 'Kick' that has already made over Rs 350 crore worldwide and the upcoming 'Singham Returns'.
