George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin- One of Hollywood's hottest man, George Clooney tied the know with Human Rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in a wedding ceremony in Venice. The famous celebrity couple tied the knot on Saturday, September 27, 2014 that was confirmed by George Clooney's representative. Like most other celebrity weddings, we think this wedding would have been one expensive affair! With the bride, groom and their close family and friends in Venice for the wedding ceremony, we assume this wedding would have been an expensive affair. The couple got married on the beautiful Grand Canal where Clooney reached in a water-taxi. According to news reports prior to the wedding, arrangements were made and security breached around the area to not let the paparazzi get in the way. This was a much anticipated event as George Clooney was Hollywood's one of the most eligible bachelors.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra- Shilpa Shetty was one of the country's most desirable woman before she went ahead and got married to London based businessman Raj Kundra. But being in sync with her Bollywood ways, the couple's wedding was a grand affair. Shilpa and Raj's wedding celebrations began in Khandala with a mehendi-cum-sangeet ceremony. The wedding and pre-wedding functions that took place in Khandala were at Shilpa's close friend's farm house. The wedding took place with Shilpa's Mangalorean customs. The couple got engaged a month before at Raj Kundra's bungalow in Juhu in Mumbai. The couple together hosted a grand reception for the who's who of the film industry for their reception which took place at a posh hotel in Mumbai after their wedding. Shilpa the bride, wore dresses by designer Tarun Tahiliani for all her functions while her groom Raj Kundra chose Shantanu and Nikhil outfits for both the wedding and the reception. It is believed that Shilpa Shetty's wedding sari that has red swarovski embellished on it is rumoured to have costed Rs 50 lakh! It's not just her clothes, Shilpa is believed to have splurged on her wedding jewellery and her majestic kundan jewellery with uncut diamonds and emeralds is believed to be close to Rs 3 crore. According to gossip magazines, Shilpa and Raj's nine tier wedding cake at their reception weighed over 80 kgs!

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan- They are Bollywood's golden couple and it is obvious that the wedding ceremony of the world's most beautiful woman Aishwarya Rai and son of legendary Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, was an intimate but nevertheless a grand wedding affair! Because of Amitabh Bachchan's mother's ill health, the wedding ceremonies were limited to only a select few but it still had that opulence that we expected from this wedding. It is believed that the henna for Aishwarya's mehendi ceremony came from Sojat in Rajasthan. 15 kgs of henna was sent to Mumbai five days prior to the ceremony by the traders. The henna was specially prepared by them as they had done the same for Liz Hurley's wedding. Ash's wedding sari was a beautiful red and gold zari one designed by her favourite Neeta Lulla. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan- Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's wedding was one of the most talked about events at one point of time. Everything from the bride and groom's wedding outfits to the guest list was under a lot of speculation. While the couple chose a simple registered marriage to bind each other in the bond of love, the pre and post wedding functions had the paparazzi going wild. Out of all the functions, it was the post wedding reception called the Dawat-E-Walima hosted by Saif Ali Khan's mother Sharmila Tagore that was the most talked about. Apart from film personalities that were a highlight at most of the functions, this one had dignitaries from the Royal families, celebrities from the world of sports and politics as well. Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh- Actor Riteish Deshmukh's wedding to his girlfriend of long time and actress Genelia D'Souza was another staple big fat Bollywood affair. Their wedding was a five day affair and since Riteish and Genelia belong to different cultures, the wedding took place with Maharashtrian customs which was followed by a Church wedding. According to a news report in Hindustan Times, Riteish and Genelia's wedding was decided at the last moment and hence the wedding planners had a tough task at hand. A star studded mehendi and sangeet ceremony was followed by an equally dazzling wedding ceremony. Riteish and Genelia's reception was another star studded affair and included celebrities from the film, fashion and political world. Riteish's father Vilasrao Deshmukh being the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the event had more star power than the country had seen for a long time. Apart from five star hotels being booked, a lavish spread for the high profile guests; the wedding attire of the bride and groom was another talking point. The news report says that the wedding budget of such weddings usually goes up to Rs 25 crore.

Avantika and Imran Khan- Imran Khan got married to his ladylove Avantika Mallik and as we expected, this wedding turned out to be another glitzy, glamorous affair! Every function this couple hosted had Bollywood stars and celebrities from all walks of life pouring in. Imran and Avantika's mehendi ceremony took place at Avantika's parent's farmhouse in Karjat. It is believed that to avoid any untoward incident and ensure the security is upto the mark, the guests were given swipe cards to enter the venue. The couple's reception was hosted by Imran Khan's mamu jaan Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao at Mumbai's expensive Taj Lands End hotel. The biggies of the entertainment industry attended this function. From Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri to Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan attended the do. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali too made their presence felt at the function. If we pay any heed to gossip then it is believed that since Imran Khan was busy with his film shooting, he could not help Avantika to plan the wedding. But their friend Karan Johar apparently stepped in and helped with the wedding preparations and was the unofficial wedding planner! For some of the ceremonies it was believed that Khan family's special chefs were flown in from Lucknow to prepare delectable meals.

TV star Kim Kardashian's wedding to American singer-songwriter Kanye West was a festive gala to say the least. The wedding that took place in two cities was an affair as grand as this newly crowned power couple. Believe it or not but Kim-Kanye's extravagant wedding ceremony costed $2.8 million! And no we aren't including the Paris leg of the wedding, the hotel costs and flight tickets. According to E! online the couple's wedding weekend that kick-started in Paris and continued in Florence may have costed much more than this. The spectacular dinner in Paris is only hinted to have cost $3282.72. According to the website, Kimye (as they are fondly called) had paid for 100 rooms at Westin Excelsior for guests at the wedding party. An estimated cost for one night at the Excelsior for 100 rooms could range up to $68,000!
