Time and again there have been reports of some actresses or the other running brothels or being involved in sex trade. Bhuvaneswari
Tamil actress Bhuvaneswari and four men were arrested by the Chennai police for their involvement in prostitution in 2009. The sex siren, known for her role as – well, what else, but a prostitute – in director Shankar's 'Boys' was reportedly running a brothel in real life too, and was caught red-handed entertaining her customers a few years ago. Bhuvaneswari has acted in a number of films and serials, making her mark with bold, glamorous roles.

Caroline Mariya
Tamil actress Caroline Mariya Asan was arrested for her alleged involvement in a prostitution racket that was being run from a five-star hotel in Viman Nagar in Pune, in 2012. She has played heroine in movies like 'Rain' and 'Wadachalam'. The actress has done modelling assignments for textile and diamond companies in Chennai as well.

Vineetha
She was arrested in 2002 in suspicion of alleged prostitution, but was later cleared in 2004, and all charges dropped, with Vineetha stating that the trial had put her through mental agony. After spending eight years away from the industry, she returned in 2008 to play a supporting role in the low-budget drama – Enga Raasi Nalla Raasi.

Ranjitha
Ranjitha, who charmed many with her roles on the silver screen in the 90s, shocked everyone when her name cropped up in association with the sex scandal involving godman Swami Nithyananda which got leaked. The actress went into hiding for a few days and then had reportedly filed a complaint claiming it wasn't her at all. Though this wasn't particularly a case of prostitution, it definitely was among the top sex scandals involving a Tamil actress.
