Forty-year-old model Kate Moss recently revealed that she uses 'skin icing' as an anti-ageing tactic. It involves wrapping ice cubes in a cloth and rubbing them over the face. Like Moss, there are a bevy of Hollywood beauties who try the strangest of things to look good on the red carpet. Here are some of the more bizarre ones...

ICE CUBES
Kate Moss
The model has acknowledged using 'skin icing' as a part of her morning beauty ritual to reduce puffiness and wrinkles on her face.

SNAKE VENOM
Gwyneth Paltrow

Known for her quirky beauty fixes, Paltrow uses this skin cream that is said to have a similar (but gentler) paralysing effect as a snake bite.

PLACENTA FACIAL
Eva Longoria

The star is said to be a fan of skin creams containing placenta that boost the production of collagens, thus moisturising the skin.

FISH EGGS
Angelina Jolie

The expensive caviar is a part of Angie's moisturising routine. Apparently, the fish eggs have helped reduce her stretch marks too.

BIRD POO
Victoria Beckham

Posh Spice is said to be an avid fan of the traditional Japanese Geisha facials that use nightingale droppings to form a cleansing paste for skin.

BUTT CREAM
Sandra Bullock

In an interview, she said, "I didn't realise that putting haemorrhoid ointment on your face is acceptable in the beauty business... butt cream helps lines around the eyes!"

LEECH THERAPY
Demi Moore

Supposedly, the actress flies to Austria to use 'trained' medical leeches to remove bruising and under eye circles.

KETCHUP
Sienna Miller

After accidentally getting henna dye on her beach-blonde strands, Miller used ketchup to remove the green tinge.

VAMPIRE FACIAL
Kim Kardashian

Kim is an ardent fan of this fix, which involves drawing blood from a patient and re-injecting its platelet layer into skin.

A Few PRACTICAL beauty fixes from celeb kitchen cabinets

Halle Berry
Ground coffee to get rid of cellulite
The actress is said to add ground coffee to her body wash for exfoliating her skin.

Zoe Saldana
Mayonnaise for hair
Growing up in a hippie household, Saldana has admitted that she was encouraged to use mayonnaise that would add shine to her hair.

Emma Stone
Grapeseed oil as moisturiser
Allergic to several beauty products, the Spider-man star prefers using natural grapeseed oil from the grocery store on her face as a moisturiser.

Julia Roberts
Olive oil as hand soak
Not just a salad ingredient, olive oil is also a part of Roberts' beauty routine. She uses it to soften her skin and strengthen her nail cuticles.

Nicole Kidman
Cranberry juice for hair
The secret to Kidman's radiant red locks is a cup of cranberry juice that the actress pours over her hair post shampooing, to add colour.
