Salman Khan has played a cop in a number of films and every time in a different avatar. The actor was seen as a policeman in films like Garv, Wanted, Dabangg and Dabangg 2. However, the shades of his characters have always been like chalk and cheese. During an interview before the release of his film Dabangg, Salman said, "In Garv I played a policeman who is simple and dedicated and in Wanted it was a gunda tapori look and it's revealed in the end that my character is a policeman. In Dabangg it is a different role as right from the beginning Chulbul Pandey is corrupt yet honest and knows how to behave with people. He's like Robinhood, do good to good people and teach a lesson to the evil ones. It is a different character altogether." In his real life, however, the actor has been through his share of legal troubles. On September 28, 2002, the superstar was arrested for rash and negligent driving which allegedly killed one person and injured four others. On February 17, 2006, Salman was sentenced to one year in prison for hunting a Chinkara. On April 10, 2006, the actor was handed a five-year jail term and remanded to custody in Jodhpur jail until April 13, 2006, when he was granted bail.
