'We can be careful about equating a woman to objects which are consumable': Bollywood filmmakers are often accused of objectifying women in their films. However, desi girl Priyanka Chopra has a different story to tell. In an interview to Hindustan Times, she said that she hasn't come across a song which she has done and felt insulting to her. But she tries and plays parts which are of strong women as she wants India to see that women are not just pretty little objects. She was quoted saying, "As an actor, you don't only get those kinds of parts, you get other parts as well. However, with me it has not happened that I have felt objectified." Priyanka is known for her powerful roles in movies like Fashion, Barfi! and Mary Kom. She believes that there is a fine line between objectifying a woman and appreciating her beauty. "We come from the land of Kama Sutra, which appreciates beauty, yet there is no objectification. We can be careful about equating a woman to objects which are consumable... it is a fine line which every individual can follow," the report further quoted Priyanka.

'By the way, who is John?': In a freewheeling interview with Bombay Times, Bipasha Basu has cheekily commented that when a dentist walked up to her, claiming to be John's dentist who had met her several times with him, she claimed to have forgotten about both of them. She amply supported the claims with an excuse that she had a short memory span. Speaking about the same, the actress says, "I have selective memory, that too, it lasts for only three months. I keep erasing the rest." The actress also seems nonchalant about the entire episode. Narrating the incident, she says, "Yesterday, one guy meets me at the gym from far and says, 'Hello ma'am. How are you?' So, first and foremost, I had to walk right close to him to even see who he was. He says, 'Remember me?' I said, 'No.' He said, 'You have met me so many times with John. I am Sunil Bulaboy, his dentist.' I said, 'Oh, hello. How are you?' He understood from my face that I could not place him and again said, 'You don't remember me?' I went back to him after some time and said, 'By the way, who is John?' What to do, I told him, I have selective memory. He was in splits."

'Riteish was a legend of sex comedies': Aftab Shivdasani replaces Riteish Deshmukh in the third installment of the sex-comedy franchise Kya Kool Hai Hum. However, Aftab maintains that he is just getting warmed up as far as the genre is concerned while Riteish is a specialist of the game. According to Thenewsreports.com, when asked if he considered himself an expert at sex-comedies, Aftab joked that Riteish was a legend of sex comedies and that he was a sex guru and the rest are still getting there. Riteish has done films like Masti, Grand Masti, Kya Kool Hain Hum and Kya Super Kool Hai Hum in the past - all of which fall under the adult comedy genre. However, he is not a part of the third film in the franchise, Kya Kool Hai Hum that features Aftab Shivdasani, Tusshar Kapoor and Krushna Abhishek.

'Movies that Shekhar Kapur and my father made in those days were far more forward than some of Anurag Kashyap's movies of today': Pooja Bhatt thinks that the films her dad made were way more progressive than the ones made by revolutionary filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. In her interview to IANS, Pooja Bhatt was quoted as saying, "Some of the films are new, but most of them are old as hell and packaged in beautiful bottles. I have grown up seeing my father's movies. I think the movies that Shekhar Kapur and my father made in those days were far more forward than some of Anurag Kashyap's movies of today, even if he is known as the new age king. I am not an expert, but I know that there is a lot more talks happening than substance. If you scratch beneath the surface, then nothing is really new. They are packaging it pretty well with the same old thing again and again."

'How does it matter to anybody what two consenting adults do in their bedroom?': After Shahid, Hansal Mehta is all set for his next film inspired by an Aligarh Muslim University professor, as reported by Mumbai Mirror. Just days before he was to retire, the professor was reportedly suspended after being filmed on spy-cam while having consensual sex with a rickshawallah, in his apartment within the campus. Manoj Bajpayee is roped in to play the professor and the film will go on floors in January 2015. Though Hansal and Manoj have been friends since 1993, the filmmaker was apprehensive about approaching the actor. So he asked casting director Mukesh Chhabra to make the call, the report further states. "Why do we marginalise people in our society on counts like religion, sexual preferences and the likes? This film is about the draconian article 377 of IPC. How does it matter to anybody what two consenting adults do in their bedroom? I have several gay friends whose housing societies mirror the state that has become the moral police," the tabloid quotes Hansal Mehta.
Celebs are known to be in the limelight and under constant media scrutiny. While some try to remain as private as possible, others make headlines all the times, either for the statements they make or the controversies they get embroiled in.

'HNY is the most nonsensical film I've seen in recent years': At a literary event in Mumbai, Jaya Bachchan was her usual outspoken self and expressed displeasure about her son Abhishek's recent film, Happy New Year. According to a report in mid-day, Jaya said, "HNY is the most nonsensical film I've seen in recent years. I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he's a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that. I can't be a part of what is being done in films these days and hence, I don't do films anymore. Cinema today is about business, not art. We call good films art house cinema. What does that even mean? All cinema is art."

'Ranveer likes to take off his pants in public': Soon after the reports of Ranveer Singh dropping off his pants in public while shooting 'Happy Budday' song from Kill Dil were out, his co-star Parineeti Chopra has another revelation about the actor. In an article published on Glamsham.com, Parineeti has said that Ranveer loves to drop his pants in public. "I am used to seeing Ranveer in any look. He can come without pants and sit and you will be like please wear something and come. In fact, that happens every two days," Glamsham.com quoted Parineeti.
The report further states Parineeti as saying, "I normally enter anybody's make-up van saying 'Hello it is me!'. But only in Ranveer's van I never enter without his permission. Because with Ranveer it isn't that he is sleeping or he is in washroom, it is whether he is wearing clothes or no. He likes to take off his pants in public. In fact, I was doing an emotional-romantic scene and I was busy doing my make-up. But when I turned back I saw him without pants. Then I told him 'Ranveer I am in a zone and please help me out'. So then he was like ok and wore his pants. He is just shameless."

'Farhan Akhtar's films I clearly don't care for': Not a fan of Farhan's acting or films, Naseeruddin is a veteran when it comes to Bollywood and theatre and not one to mince his words. His contribution to Hindi films has been immense and an actor like Naseeruddin Shah is hard to come by. But apart from his acting skills, he's also known to be candid. In an exclusive interview to TOI, the actor spoke about Bollywood and in particular, Farhan Akhtar. The actor went on to say, "Farhan Akhtar's films I clearly don't care for. I liked his first film Dil Chahta Hai. He's a tremendous person and has so many facets to him. Tomorrow I won't be surprised if I hear that he cooked a 10 course meal to perfection. He sings, acts, produces films and writes, I think it's great he's doing whatever he can. I'm not a great fan of his acting or his films. But I admire him." Naseer played Farhan's dad in his sister Zoya's film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

'I don't have an ego that I come from this family': He's the youth icon of India and the scion of the Kapoor family who carries his family's legacy forward. Ranbir Kapoor's talent is par excellence and hailing from the first family of Bollywood, Ranbir is aware of the huge responsibility that comes with his surname. "I'm proud to represent the film industry and be a part of a family that has entertained the audiences for 84 years now. But I don't have an ego that I come from this family or have the Kapoor surname attached to my name, nor do I carry a chip on my shoulder. We are in this profession because we love it and also because of the respect, appreciation and the love that we receive from people. My grandfather paved the way followed by my father and uncles. My family has been doing good work. All the credit goes to them and I hope my kids and grandchildren get the same chance."
