Ranbir Kapoor, who has an extended cameo in Roy, is apparently irked by the makers of the film giving him prominence in the promotional posters. According to a report in mid-day, the first look of Roy has not gone down well with Ranbir. The report quotes sources saying that the actor, who has a short role in the film, is unhappy with the film being promoted as a regular RK-starrer film. Industry insiders suggest that Ranbir has decided not to promote the film, the report further states, quoting a source, "Roy is essentially an Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez film but the way it is being projected — giving Ranbir unwanted prominence in the posters — is funny. In fact, it is misleading. Ranbir has not spoken about the film which is a tell-tale sign."
