According to a Mid-day report, newcomer Sapna Pabbi plans to have 'midnight chats' with men to promote her erotic thriller Khamoshiyan. Sapna, who will make her debut with Khamoshiyan, will be chatting with men post midnight on social networking sites, states the report. The report quoted a source, "The idea is to promote her upcoming film. As the film is an erotic thriller, the chat will be fun and flirtatious. However, the questions will be filtered."

Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Ali Zafar had a fun time at an innovative promotional event held for Kill Dil. The actors sprayed graffiti on a wall at Mahim. It was reported in mid-day that the BMC painted all over their graffiti, as it did not convey a social message and the actors then went on to re-paint the wall, this time with a social message.

Vidya Balan is one of the few Bollywood actors who never shy away from going overboard for the promotion of their films. The then single actress was at her daring best at the promotions of her film Kahaani as she moved around with a huge baby bump at all events. The actress played the role of a pregnant woman in the superhit film and did not mind flaunting her huge bump off screen.

The makers of the horror film 3 AM considered carrying out the promotions at popular haunted places. The film's promotions were as scary as the film itself. The film featured VJ and anchor Rannvijay Singh and Anindita Nayar. The 3 AM team even went scouting for such places which were convenient to access and were also sorting permissions from the required authorities. However, the actors were not so eager on the idea and had to be convinced to go ahead with such spooky promotions.

Hrithik Roshan devised a simple but unique strategy ahead of the release of his film Bang Bang. On the lines of the popular Ice Bucket Challenge, Hrithik gave 'BangBangDare' to his Bollywood buddies on Twitter. The actor dared Shah Rukh Khan to show a picture doing his favourite abs exercise whereas he asked Sonam Kapoor to share the collection of her craziest smiles on the success of Khoobsurat. The first one to take up Hrithik's challenge was Priyanka Chopra who performed a handstand with three push ups in heels.

Vidya Balan was not the first Bollywood A-lister to fool people in disguises ahead of her film's promotions. Aamir Khan, who played a genius in 3 Idiots with a suspicious identity, went missing as a part of a unique hide-and-seek strategy. Mr Perfectionist as he is called, gave seven clues about his location and challenged people to spot him if they could. Aamir Khan made public appearances in disguises and the first clue was dropped by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to identify him.

While Vidya Balan is already an expert in promoting her films in her unique ways, UTV Motion Pictures promoted her film Ghanchakkar, also starring Emraan Hashmi, by announcing a nationwide treasure hunt. The filmmakers gave fans a chance to win Rs 1 lakh for finding the treasure. As part of the game, money was hidden in 16 cities across the country and the contestants were given clues to find it. This not only made the moviegoers curious but also gave them a chance to win some quick money.

Vidya Balan always sinks into her character so deep that it gets hard to differentiate her reel self from the real. The critically acclaimed actress took the promotions of her film Bobby Jasoos to a higher level by turning up in her 'detective' avatar. The actress who even fooled her father, went ahead to ask Hrithik Roshan for alms while being dressed as a beggar. Vidya Balan left Hrithik irritated who even called out to his bodyguards to throw the beggar out.

Rani Mukerji brought in action a less popular promotional strategy for her film Mardaani. The diva ditched star-studded events and rather flocked to small towns to meet real Mardaanis across the country. Playing a cop in the film, Rani felicitated a woman sub-inspector Pushpa Yadav in Jhansi besides meeting Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel and Pune Police Commissioner Meeran Borwankar. She also celebrated Independence Day with the jawans in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of her film's release.
