According to a report, while speculation of their impending marriage has been rife for a while, a reliable source close to the actors had informed that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were to get engaged on December 30, 2014 in London. "Katrina was in London to celebrate Christmas with her family. Ranbir joined her soon after. In the presence of a chosen few friends and Katrina's family, the two apparently exchanged rings.
