Sanjay Kapoor who is busy with his upcoming film Tevar, had turned producer back in 2007 with It's My Life - a film which never saw the light of the day. Reportedly, directed by Anees Bazmee, the film starred Harman Baweja and Genelia D'Souza and was a remake of Telugu film Bommarillu. According to a report in Mid-day, while shooting in Oslo at that time, Harman had to face a panic situation when his passport was stolen. Interestingly, the film also had comedian Kapil Sharma in the cast, the report states.

Long before he became a celebrity (in his own right), Kapil Sharma was a struggling theatre artist. The comedian began his acting career in Amritsar during his college days and apparently struggled for ten years to make a mark through this medium! Kapil participated in a comedy show on a Punjabi channel in 2005 before participating in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007 which he went on to win! And since then, there has been no stopping the lad! Kapil's show is similar to hit British comedy show The Kumars at No. 42. Due to his knack for humour, wit and sarcasm, Kapil has made the show such a hit that in the first quarter of 2014, Comedy Nights with Kapil enjoyed TVTs above 10,000.

The actor has impressed all the bigwigs from the film world including YRF scion Aditya Chopra. Kapil had bagged a 3-film contract and talent management deal with Yash Raj Films which didn't work out later. But not many know that Kapil actually wanted to be a singer and packed his bags and came to Mumbai with the hope of singing. Kapil also participated in the singing reality show Star Ya Rockstar where he was a wild card entry. Unfortunately, he did not win the show but he found a fan following in the likes of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. Lata didi had even tweeted, "Kapil ne itne saare dialogues bolne ke baad itna accha gaya. Main usey bahut bahut badhai deti hoon." [sic] In fact, Sonu Nigam is said to have been impressed with his singing talent and music director duo of Salim-Sulaiman offered him a chance to sing for them. According to a news report in Indian Express, Kapil Sharma also wants to launch his music album soon and it will allegedly be a Sufi and Punjabi music album with universal music label showing a keen interest in producing the album.

With his fan following and contribution to the entertainment industry, it is but natural for Kapil to be honoured for his work. Kapil along with Deepika Padukone won the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2013 for his contribution to the entertainment industry. In an interview in The Times of India, he was quoted saying that to be awarded amongst prominent personalities was an honour in itself. He added, "I have always believed in working and entertaining the common man and that I think is the success mantra of my life." That apart, Kapil has also made it to the Forbes India's Celebrity list where he ranks 93rd. This powerful list includes the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Virat Kohli. According to the list, Kapil apparently makes Rs 4.5 crore a year as of October 31, 2013. In terms of money, he's ranked 87th and in terms of fame he's ranked 82nd. That's quite a feat for this lad.

Kapil is one of India's most eligible bachelors and quite in demand among the ladies, be it a commoner or a Bollywood actress. Top stars like Deepika Padukone and Parineeti Chopra have gone on the sets of Comedy Nights with Kapil and mentioned that they'd want a man like Kapil Sharma. That's a huge compliment. But on a serious note, Kapil Sharma is single! Yes you heard it right. There are rumours floating that Kapil is allegedly dating Comedy Nights with Kapil's creative director Preeti Simoes. Kapil and Preeti are said to have met on the sets of Comedy Circus and love apparently blossomed between the two. The two then quit the show to start Comedy Nights with Kapil and the rest as they say is history! But will he tie the knot with Preeti remains a big question mark for all!
