Malaika Arora Khan, who was recently in Raipur, couldn't stop gushing about the 'clean and green' city and its 'warm' janta

In Raipur after almost a decade, Malaika Arora Khan was impressed with the city's infrastructure and said she was overwhelmed by the warm reception she received from Raipurites. The style diva, who had come on Friday for a promotional event, got talking with us. "I was in the city some ten years ago, and I must say, the city has changed so much. The airport has become a world-class one and I loved the greenery around. The place is so well maintained and the roads are so clean - I liked everything about the place," Malaika said.

And what does she have to say about the people of Raipur? "I was overwhelmed by the warm reception I got from the people here. It was too heartening. After coming here, I can say that the one thing that makes Raipur so special is its lovely and courteous people," she added.

The yummy mommy also shared the secret of her envious figure. "I gym everyday, and that's where my fitness regime ends. I don't follow a strict diet. I love to eat and I also have a sweet tooth - gulab jamuns are my favourite. One should always take care of their body. It's not like you keep munching on junk food and have pizzas and burgers and then sit in front of the TV all day. That will obviously make you a couch potato. Eat a lot, but then also burn it," she advised, before adding, "I don't really get the idea, ki you tend to gain weight after having kids. I am 40 and I'm fit. This happens only when you take care of yourself."

After VJing, acting, and doing item numbers, Malaika also turned producer recently with Dabangg. But when do we see her in a full-fledged role? "I've always maintained that I'm not an actor. I'm a dancer and my work is to dance. The itsy-bitsy roles that I did were only for my friends in the film industry. From Chhaiyya Chhaiyya to Munni Badnaam Hui, for me it has always been all about dancing," she smiled. "But these days, I'm busy with my production work and have no time for dancing," she added.

Talking about the death penalty given to the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case, Malaika said, "I'm really happy with the verdict. It has restored our faith in the judicial system. But again, I'm appalled with all kinds of statements that people keep making. Kehte hain ki rapes hote hain kyonki western culture ka influence hai. How do they explain when a two-year-old is raped? We keep hearing about such reports, and it's so disturbing. There was a time jab humein shooting karte hue 10-11 baj jate thay. But we were never worried about our safety. But now it's not the same anymore. I hope this judgment will instill some fear in people."
