During the shoot of his upcoming release, Ram-Leela, starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, cinematographer Ravi Varman suffered an injury. Though he offered to continue working, Bhansali decided to reschedule the shoot.
In another incident, when a wooden plank fell on a junior artiste, the producer-director immediately stopped the shoot and called for a doctor. Apart from taking care of her medical expenses, he also ensured that she got sufficient rest.
Sources say Bhansali is respectful towards every single person on the set and shares a one-on-one equation with everyone. Says a crew member, "Sanjay is known as a hard taskmaster and perfectionist. However, very few know that he has a soft side and is the first to praise a job brilliantly done. He is very attached to his team and personally thanked everyone for their hard work. He does not treat anyone differently."
