Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have done various films together like Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Kuch Naa Kaho, Umrao Jaan and Guru where they have been paired opposite each other. The song featured Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan along with the beautiful Aishwarya. There were strong whispers that sparks flew for the first time between Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan on the sets of 'Kajra Re'. The song too, became a huge hit and went down in history as the one where Aishwarya is seen shaking a leg with both her future husband and father-in-law.

Abhi-Ash as they are fondly referred to in the media, are believed to have come closer to while shooting for Mani Ratnam's Guru. It is also believed that Abhishek Bachchan proposed marriage to Aishwarya Rai in Toronto after the premiere of Guru there. Aishwarya immediately accepted the proposal and the two got married on April 20, 2007.
